Correction Procedure
If the student has difficulty repeating the definition of a word, model it for him/her a second time, have him/her repeat the meaning with you (lead) and then ask him/her to say the definition on his/her own (test). Then begin the TASK again.

Say, Let's look at Box 3 in your Reader. In this Box there are six irregular words. The button with the word HELP! (point to the button) in it will always be used when you are going to learn or review irregular words. An irregular word is a word that sounds funny if you sound it out correctly. Every irregular word you will see in the Boxes in your Reader will have an asterisk (point to the asterisk) after it. Here's a rule about a word with an asterisk after it. If a word has an asterisk, I will read it first, then you will repeat it. Put your finger on the first word in Box 3.
That word is eight. What's the word?
Ready. Signal. Student says, eight.
Spell eight.
Ready. Signal. Student spells, e-i-g-h-t.
What word did you spell?
Ready. Signal. Students says, eight.
Good. The next word is heard. What's that word?
Ready. Signal. Student says, heard.
Spell heard.
