A Brief History of QLC Educational Services and Teach Your Children Well

In 1979 Michael Maloney founded Quinte Learning Centre in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Initially the Centre provided after-school tutorials either to enhance giftedness or to resolve learning difficulties. Two decades have seen Quinte Learning Centre undergo many changes. In early times it was a full-time day school offering a complete curriculum to students from Grades 2 to 8. For many years it has been instrumental in assisting injured workers to obtain their high school diplomas and proceed to college. In 1998 Quinte Learning Centre became QLC Educational Services. It continues to produce consistent academic gains for both children and adult learners through the use of three powerful technologies—Direct Instruction, Precision Teaching and Behaviour Management.

Teach Your Children Well is a division of QLC Educational Services. In 1998 Michael Maloney wrote the best-selling book, Teach Your Children Well, to spread the word of his successes with students of all ages. This book offers proven solutions to two major problems in current education—illiteracy and school failure. Three years after, in response to parental demand for access to his successful methods, Michael Maloney, along with Lynne Brearley and Judie Preece, produced a series of books entitled Teach Your Children to Read Well.

It has always been Michael Maloney's philosophy that "if the student didn't learn, the teacher didn't teach." He has made it his personal mission to ensure that every one of his students succeeds. So far he has been an unqualified success.
